CRIME ON THE GOAT ISLAND

The most performed drama of the Italian lawyer and writer Ugo Betti was staged by Paolo Magelli at the CNT in Zagreb and performed in the inspirational venue of the Brodarski Institute that opened its door to the public for the very first time and became a theatre stage. Betti's text, as a performance deals with hate, solitude and unity, beginning and end, life and death. Three women: mother, daughter and a young spinster live on a desolate island and with their own decisions and fates are doomed to a mutual solitude that threateningly objectifies into a steady order of known things until the arrival of a stranger, whose arrival is the driver of drama action that leads to an imminent tragic end.
