The Creative Europe Desk – Culture Office at the Ministry of Culture and Media, in cooperation with Croatian and international partners, is organising the international conference Green Culture: From Creative Vision to Systemic Change on 17 September 2026 at HNK 2. Conceived as a one-day platform for critical reflection and discussion, the conference will explore green policies and the role of culture in addressing today’s environmental and climate challenges through three thematic pillars: Culture Advocate, Culture Impact and Culture Involve.
The morning programme will feature keynote lectures, panel discussions, round tables and artistic interventions, bringing together international experts, representatives of European institutions, policymakers, cultural professionals and artists. The discussions will focus on current European policies and support mechanisms for the green transition, examples of good practice from the cultural sector, tools for developing sustainable organisational models, and the potential of culture to shape public discourse and foster social change. The programme will also include artistic presentations and audiovisual content that innovatively connect art, ecology and social engagement. The afternoon programme is dedicated to the practical application of knowledge and active participant engagement. It will be organised into seven parallel groups, allowing participants to choose the format that best suits their interests and professional needs, ranging from expert lectures and presentations to interactive workshops, study visits and hands-on programmes at various locations.
