In thirteen chapters, the author provides an overview and detailed insight into the professional and private biographies of forgotten and neglected artists in the history of Croatian theatre. In order to systematically and comprehensibly present the wider context of the position of women in a dominantly male system of rules, the author singles out each of the artists separately, in a separate entity, which then, for each of them according to the specific case, analyzes the social, artistic, cultural and political framework within which they lived and acted.
