Elena Ferrante
MY BRILLIANT FRIEND
The novel of the famous contemporary Italian writer Elena Ferrante about two friends, Elena and Lili, immediately won over the readers and the critique. The adaptation follows the destinies and the growing-up of two girls, their complex but exceptional friendship embedded into the rich image of the society, a friendship interwoven with conflicts, love and rivalry. Their growing up and maturing is occurring in the post-war suburban Naples, an uneducated environment weighed down by poverty, crucified by the exhausting physical work and mafia rules. This exceptional fictional work adapted by Nina Peručić and Filip Jurjević was directed for the stage of the CNT in Zagreb by Marina Pejnović who, with the assistance of the great drama ensemble, conveyed the exciting scenes of one of the most popular contemporary world novels to the stage.
