International Ballet Competition Slavenska Prix

The International Ballet Competition Mia Čorak Slavenska is named after one of Croatia’s most distinguished prima ballerinas, who achieved an outstanding international career, particularly in the United States. Through her artistic work in the 20th century, she made a significant contribution to the recognition and promotion of Croatian ballet on the global stage.
Organized by the Croatian Society of Professional Ballet Artists and the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, the competition has, for over two decades, brought together a new generation of talented and promising young ballet dancers from around the world, offering them a platform for artistic development and international visibility.
The programme is divided into three categories: Juniors (up to 19 years of age), Seniors (20 to 28 years of age) and Groups (new category). The competitors are evaluated by an international jury consisting of Dr. Simona Noja-Nebyla, Dennis Matvienko, and Ronald Savković. The competition is organized and artistically directed by Prof. Dr. Svebor Sečak, President of the Croatian Society of Professional Ballet Artists.
