Promotion of the monograph Croatian film in the 21st centuryDrama — 31. August 2023.
The promotion of the scientific monograph Croatian Film in the 21st century – Production of Feature Films between 2001 and 2022 and Daily Newspaper Film Reviews written by Zlatko Vidačković, PhD and Iva Rosanda Žigo, PhD will take place on September 6, 2023, at 6 p.m. in the CNT Foyer. The monograph will be presented by reviewers Bruno Kragić, PhD and Nikša Sviličić, PhD, the authors and the editor of the book, Željko Anzulović. The host of the event will be actress Dora Fišter.
The publishers are the Artistic organisation Metropolis (MET) and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU) and the publication is financed by the Ministry of Culture and Media and HAVC.
In the large-scale monograph containing 184 pages, the entire contemporary Croatian feature film production is analysed through a multidisciplinary approach, 190 Croatian feature films are presented, and 664 newspaper film reviews are synthetised and pointed out.
The 12 chapters elaborate on film as the mass media of today, the context of change of critical reception of Croatian film in the 21st century, the most screened Croatian novelists, key directors and genres of Croatian feature film, the reception of the critics, social themes and topics of Croatian movies and the Croatian movie as an interpreter of social-cultural reality.
The appendices contain a detailed filmography with data on all Croatian feature films, the list of all analysed reviews, alphabetised table of films and graphs of screened literature, national and international festival awards, the most awarded movies and directors and the most watched Croatian feature films between 2001 and 2022.
At the promotion, the price of the monograph will be 30 EUR.
