On Saturday, 4 July 2026, at 8:30 p.m., the square in front of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb will once again be transformed into an open-air stage and a gathering place for celebrating the close of another successful theatre season. This year’s concert, entitled The ’90s – The Years We Remember, takes audiences on a musical and theatrical journey through a decade that shaped the lives, coming-of-age stories and memories of generations.

Organised by the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb in partnership with Jutarnji list and with the support of the Zagreb Tourist Board, the audience will enjoy an evening bringing together theatre, a concert and a shared celebration of the songs that defined an era. Under the creative direction of Ante Gelo, artists from the CNT Drama, Opera and Ballet ensembles will perform alongside numerous musicians, once again showcasing the strength of collaboration across all of the Theatre’s artistic ensembles.

Before the concert begins, the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb will present its annual awards for the most outstanding artistic achievements of the 2025/2026 season, honouring artists and collaborators for their exceptional contribution throughout the past theatre year.

Following the opening ceremony, audiences will enjoy a musical spectacular featuring the Drama, Opera and Ballet artists performing nearly forty of the greatest hits of the 1990s, creating an evening filled with emotion, nostalgia and unforgettable songs that defined an entire decade.

The programme is conceived as a musical journey through seven themed segments. Beginning with a tribute to the homeland and Zagreb, it moves through romantic ballads and timeless hits, taking audiences from intimate, emotional moments to an energetic dance medley and the music that filled clubs and radio airwaves throughout the 1990s. A special segment is dedicated to the greatest musical icons of the decade, while the finale culminates in a shared celebration of Zagreb and all the performers with the closing song Laku noć tebi, Zagrebe (Good Night to You, Zagreb).

The members of the Drama ensemble Iva Mihalić, Dušan Bućan, Igor Kovač, Lana Barić, Filip Vidović, Lana Ujević Telenta, Ivan Colarić, Marin Klišmanić and Jelena Perčin will take the stage, joined by guest performer Rok Juričić. Representing the Ballet ensemble will be Helena Troha, Mario Diligente, Mutsumi Matsuhisa, Adam Harris, Diana Montes Mota, Mario Charlo Sobrino, Vera Kreitmeyer, Laura Leko, Luna Jušić, Katarina Bužić and Afrodita Siljanoska, while the Opera ensemble will feature Tvrtko Stipić, Darijan Ivezić, Toma Vlčev and Marija Dražančić.

Last year’s end-of-season concert attracted several thousand visitors, confirming its place as one of Zagreb’s most popular summer cultural events. A large audience is expected again this year, as spectators gather in front of the Theatre to celebrate the close of the season together with CNT artists through the music that continues to evoke shared memories and emotions.
