Dr. Hraste-Sočo, General Manager of the CNT in Zagreb, at the Annual Conference of Opera Europa in GenevaFrom the theatre — 06. October 2025.
From October 3 to 5, 2025, the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb participated in the annual conference of the largest European association of opera houses, Opera Europa, held in Geneva at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. The main topic of the conference was “Perspectives”, with a series of panels, lectures and meetings dedicated to the future of opera art.
The general director of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Dr. Iva Hraste Sočo, also the vice president of the Opera Europa association and a member of the Board of Directors, participated in the work of the Board and presented the upcoming opera productions of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb at the “Co-Production Marketplace”, a place for exchange, networking and connecting theatres on joint projects.
During the conference, she met with numerous other general managers, exchanged positive practices of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and presented the opening of the CNT2, the new stage of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, to international colleagues, which aroused significant interest. The general manager Dr. Hraste-Sočo also met with representatives of the new member organizations of Opera Europa, to whom she gave a welcoming speech.
On October 2 and 3, 2025, the Director of the Creative Production Office of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Mario Gigović, participated in a capacity-building workshop in the field of sustainability in the performing arts, organized in cooperation with the European association of philanthropists Fedora.
The participation of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb in this conference confirms the active role of our theatre in the European network of opera institutions and further contributes to strengthening the international visibility of Croatian opera art.
