To mark World Opera Day, celebrated on 25 October, the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb is organising a special backstage guided tour dedicated to the art of opera, its rich tradition and the development of opera in Croatia.
The tour offers an opportunity to explore the theatre from a different perspective and discover the world of Zagreb's Opera, its role in Croatian cultural life and the complex process of bringing an opera production to the stage. Particular emphasis will be placed on opera as one of the most artistically and technically complex forms of musical theatre, bringing together a wide range of artistic and technical disciplines. Under expert guidance, visitors will gain insight into the creative work of the artists and other professionals whose knowledge, skills and dedication contribute to every opera production.

The guided tour begins on 25 October 2026 at 1:30 pm in the foyer of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
Admission is free with a ticket. Tickets can be collected from the CNT box office from 22 October during regular opening hours. The number of visitors is limited to 25.
