The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb is proud to announce that the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia has decided to award the title of national principal to six distinguished members of the Drama, Opera and Ballet ensembles. This prestigious title is awarded to artists for their long-term and exceptional contribution to the development of Croatian theatre art, a high level of interpretative skill and a recognizable artistic mark in the national and international context.

I express my satisfaction and wish to congratulate the artists of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb for this honorary status, and I also thank the committee of the Ministry of Culture and Media that considered the candidacies. I would like to emphasize that this is an acknowledgement of artistic work and contribution, as well as confirmation of the work of your theatre and ensembles. In addition to your unequivocal artistic excellence that makes you so special, we have also valued your contribution as artists to the entire ensemble, said the Minister of Culture and Media, Dr. Nina Obuljen Koržinek, and presented the Decision on the title of national principal to the following artists:

· Livio Badurina, principal of Drama

· Valentina Fijačko Kobić, principal of Opera

· Takuya Sumitomo, principal of Ballet

· Natalia Kosovac, principal of Ballet

· Iva Vitić Gameiro, principal of Ballet

· Guilherme Gameiro Alves, principal of Ballet

The general manager of the CNT in Zagreb Dr. Iva Hraste Sočo, stated that the award of the status of a national principal has crowned the exceptional careers of our brilliant artists. The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb with six new national principals in Drama, Opera and Ballet confirms its significance as the central Croatian national theatre. We are proud of our artists whom I congratulate and look forward to their new interpretations on our, Croatian and international stages.
