Opera Gala Week with participation of prominent Croatian and international opera artistsOpera — 04. June 2024.
The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb is announcing the Opera Gala Week that will be held between June 10 and 13, 2024. From June 10, 2024, the spectators will be able to see a diverse program performed by prominent Croatian and international opera artists, commencing with the concert of the Polish Royal Opera in the CNT Foyer that is financed by the Ministry of culture and national heritage of the Republic of Poland as part of the Inspiring Culture program.
On the same day at 7.30 p.m. there will be an Opera Gala Concert conducted by maestro Pier Giorgio Morandi with the participation of the guest of the season, the world-renowned baritone Željko Lučić, soloists Lana Kos, Marija Kuhar Šoša, Sofija Petrović and Stjepan Franetović and the Orchestra of the CNT in Zagreb. The program will include arias from the most popular operas such as Pinkerton's aria from the third act of Madama Butterfly – Addio fiorito asil, trio of Leonora, Manrico and Count Luna from the first act of Il Trovatore – Tace la notte... Di geloso amor sprezzato, Carmen's aria from the first act of Carmen – Habanera and Musette's aria from the second act of La bohème – Quando me'n vo'.
The Opera Gala Week will continue on Wednesday June 12, 2024, with the free annual concert of CNT fellows and soloists of the Opera studio. The program is held as part of the FEDORA project Roadshow at 5 p.m. in the theatre Foyer with the participation of Petra Cik, Dina Jularić Ivančić, Benjamin Šuran and Roko Radovan.
The last event of the Opera Gala Week on June 13, 2024, will be opera Nikola Šubić Zrinjski by Ivan noble Zajc with Ivan Josip Skender as conductor. This performance will mark 30 years from the opening night of this production directed by Krešimir Dolenčić.
Opera Gala Week is a kind of introduction into the Zagreb Opera Festival that will take place in September with opera productions from Maribor, Belgrade, Warsaw and Mallorca.
