The opening night of Mozartꞌs opera Così fan tutte

The opening night of Mozartꞌs opera Così fan tutteOpera — 25. January 2024.

On February 9, 2024, the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb in coproduction with the Opera of the Slovene National Theatre in Ljubljana will premiere Mozartꞌs opera Così fan tutte.
Young opera soloists, together with the Orchestra and Chorus of the CNT in Zagreb under the leadership of maestro Valentin Egel and in stage direction by Alessio Pizzech will perform the story about female fidelity to the music score of Mozart.

It is in opera Così fan tutte that Mozartꞌs music, according to the opinions of many, reached its most humorous, charming and beautiful moments. It must be emphasised that our young new soloists who have been engaged by our theatre in the past year and a half, as well as a member of the Opera studio and fellows of the CNT Opera are participating in this project. With excellent international creatives and the participation of the Chorus and Orchestra of the CNT in Zagreb, I believe we are about to have another excellent opening night on our stage with great interest of the audience, said Željka Barišić Pulig, the director of the Opera of the CNT in Zagreb.

The plot focuses on two couples – military officers Ferrando and Guglielmo, who will be sung at the premiere by Filip Filipović and Davor Nekjak and their fiancées who are also sisters,  Dorabella and Fiordiligi, that will be sung by Emilia Rukavina and Darija Auguštan. The men are completely convinced of the fidelity and virtues of their loved ones, but their older and more experienced friend Don Alfonso, who will be sung by Marco Bussi, challenges them for a wager. The plan also includes the maid Despina (Marija Kuhar Šoša).

Così fan tutte is on the repertoire on February 10, 12, 14 (Gala performance on the occasion of Valentineꞌs Day with special surprise packages) and 17, and March 9, 2024.
