The great Croatian theatre actress, long-time principal of the Drama of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb Ivka Dabetić has passed away. She was born in 1936 in Varaždin but was educated in Zagreb and in 1959 graduated at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. The same year she was engaged at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb where she remained for more than 40 years. She retired in 2001. During almost 50 years in theatre art Ivka Dabetić indebted not only her theatre in Zagreb, but also the entire Croatian culture.
