General manager Iva Hraste Sočo a delegate of Opera Europa at the World Opera Forum in Los AngelesOpera — 06. June 2024.
The general manager of the CNT in Zagreb, Dr Iva Hraste-Sočo participated as a delegate of Opera Europa, the largest European organisation of opera houses at the World Opera Forum in Los Angeles. After she has been selected into the Board of Opera Europa, te general manager of the CNT in Zagreb was one of the three delegates who represented the central European cultural circle at this global event, together with colleagues from Germany and Poland.
The second World Opera Forum took place between June 2 and 5, 2024 in Los Angeles and gather more than 500 participants from 33 countries from 6 continents – general managers, directors, managers and producers who have exchanged positive experiences and their views on the future of opera art.
In-between the diverse topics, discussions and encounters, the participants talked about leadership strategies that are required in the sector of performative arts, taking into consideration the dynamic surroundings and the interaction of art, politics and technology.
On Monday, June 3, 2024 Dr Hraste-Sočo participated at the Board meeting of all members of Opera America, Opera Europa, Ópera Latinoamérica and the Association for opera from Canada.
On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, she participated as a speaker in a debate and panel discussion on the topic of the development and the future of opera art as a form and on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in a panel discussion on the role and influence opera has on the development of a community.
The work of the CNT in Zagreb has once again been presented at an international level, thus continuing the positioning of the central Croatian theatre on the global cultural map.
