Remembrance Day – Anniversary of the rocket attack on ZagrebFrom the theatre — 03. May 2023.

28 years have passed since the rocket attack on Zagreb on May 2, 1995.

With sadness we remember the rocket attack on Zagreb when on May 2 and 3, 1995, seven people died and more than 200 civilians were injured and the buildings of the CNT in Zagreb, the Academy of Dramatic Art and the Children's hospital in Klaićeva street were hit.

In the moment of the rocket attack, a regular rehearsal of the international ballet project Donauballet was under way in the ballet studio of the CNT in Zagreb on Mažuranić square and 17 ballet dancers were injured, some severely: Almira Osmanović, Božica Lisak, Mateja Pučko Petković, Mirna Sporiš, Edina Pličanić, Barbara Novković Novak, Lovorka Puk Tomić, Deana Gobac, Valentina Kržić, Mark Boldin, Viorel Dascalu, Andrej Barbanov, Darko Brkljačić, Dubravko Kolšek, Nicolae Vasc, Danut Dascalu and Krzysztof Pastor (guest choreographer). They were all taken care of in hospitals all around Zagreb and they have all recovered but we remember the deceased with piety.

In 2007, the space on the corner of Vlaška and Draškovićeva streets was named the Square of May Victims 1995 as a memory of the victims of the attack.
