Drama on four theatre stages at the same timeFrom the theatre — 21. February 2024.
This Friday, February 23, 2024, the Drama of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb will present its rich program in Croatia and abroad in one single day. The project of Bobo Jelčić, performance Sorry is scheduled at the Belgian Théâtre de Liège, drama Enigma variations will be shown at the CNT Ivan noble Zajc in Rijeka and at the same time performance The Candles Burn till the End will be shown at the Virkas festival of regional theatres in Virovitica, while the Zagreb audience will be able to watch the latest performance Fafarikul.
Performance Sorry, Bobo Jelčić's project, is designed as a theatre process in which actors of the CNT Drama and the students of the Academy of Dramatic Art demonstrate the archetypal stories of seemingly simple relations, social issues and daily emotions. The drama principal Jadranka Đokić is in the lead role. The performance is a part of the Prospero – extended theatre project that gathers nine theatres from nine EU countries, among which is the Belgian Théâtre de Liège at which the Drama of the CNT in Zagreb will perform on February 23 and 24, 2024.
Drama Enigma variations by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt directed by Neva Rošić a coproduction with the CNT Ivan noble Zajc in Rijeka, returns to the stage in Rijeka. The two drama principals Aleksandar Cvjetković from Rijeka as the writer and Nobel-prize recipient and Luka Dragić from Zagreb in the role of the journalist perform in this drama.
The twentieth jubilee edition of the Virkas festival of regional theatres in Virovitica will host the performance The Candles Burn till the End, drama directed after the novel of Sandor Márai adapted by Christopher Hampton, directed by Branko Ivanda in the coproduction with Teatro Erato. Three brilliant actors of the CNT in Zagreb are in the main roles Zrinka Cvitešić, Goran Grgić and Siniša Popović.
The newest drama performance Fafarikul after the story collections of Đurđica Čilić, Fafarikul and The New End, directed by Ivan Planinić, will be performed in the Sound Hall of the CNT in Zagreb with actors Darija Lorenci Flatz, Živko Anočić, Vlasta Ramljak and Franjo Kuhar. The first night of the performance was on February 18, 2024. It was well accepted by the audience and received great reviews.
