The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb hosted the awarding ceremony of the Croatian Theatre Arts' Awards, the most important professional awards in the field of drama, opera and ballet in Croatia.
The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb is proud to point out that as many as SIX AWARDS went to our artists and productions, which confirms the exceptional quality and continuous dedicated work of our ensembles.
BALLET

Hamlet to the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Camille Saint-Saëns, choreographed and directed by Leo Mujić - For the best choreographer or director in Ballet
Leo Mujić for the choreography of ballet Hamlet - For the best artistic achievement – male role
Guilherme Gameiro Alves for the role of Claudius in ballet Hamlet - For the outstanding achievement of young artists under 28
Pavel Savin for the role of Don José in ballet Carmen
DRAMA
- For the best overall performance
The Wooden Birds by Lidija Deduš directed by Ivan Plazibat, co-produced by the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin and the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. The award was accepted by the general manager of the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin, Senka Bulić, and on behalf of the general manager of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Dr. Iva Hraste-Sočo, the director of the Creative Production Office, Mario Gigović, emphasized the importance of joint work of two national theatre ensembles who joined artistic forces in this project and created a play that was deservedly crowned with this significant award tonight. - For the best stage direction

We are also particularly proud to highlight two life-time achievement awards:
- BRANKA CVITKOVIĆ – Award for overall artistic achievement – DRAMA
- ALMIRA OSMANOVIĆ – Award for overall artistic achievement – BALLET
Both of our national principals have left a deep and indelible mark on the stage of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, and their artistic opus and contribution to Croatian culture will remain permanently inscribed in history.
Congratulations for the best artistic achievement in Drama, supporting female role, go to Zelenika Konjević from Sunčana for the role of Kate in The Wooden Birds by Lidija Deduš, directed by Ivan Plazibat and co-produced by the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin and the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
