Opera gala, the traditional Christmas concert of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts will be held at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb with conductor Pier Giorgio Morandi, the chief conductor of the Zagreb Opera on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 8 p.m.
Opera soloists will lead the audience through some of the most popular works of opera composers. They are sopranos Valentina Fijačko Kobić and Marija Kuhar Šoša, mezzosoprano Sofija Petrović, tenors Filip Filipović and Stjepan Franetović, baritone Ljubomir Puškarić and bass Luciano Batinić. They will sing excerpts and arias from Carmen, Rigoletto, Nabucco, I Pagliacci, Adel and Mare, Madama Butterfly, Onegin, I Vespri Siciliani, Manon Lescaut, Samson and Dalila, La Traviata and Don Carlo, accompanied by the Orchestra of the Opera of the CNT in Zagreb that will definitely add a few overtures and intermezzos.
