ZAGREB CLASSIC – ZAGREB CLASSIC FROM 19 JUNE TO 3 JULY 2026

Organised by the Zagreb Tourist Board (TZGZ), the City of Zagreb and its partners, the Zagreb Classic 2026 festival will take place from 19 June to 3 July 2026 at King Tomislav Square, offering audiences the opportunity to enjoy outstanding open-air classical music concerts free of charge.

This year’s edition of the festival opens on Friday, 19 June 2026, at 9:00 pm and will be broadcast live on Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). The honour of opening the festival has been entrusted to a collaboration between the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and the Iranian pianist Ramin Bahrami, one of the world’s most distinguished interpreters of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert, entitled Bahrami Plays Bach, will be conducted by Dawid Runtz.

On this occasion, Martina Bienenfeld, Director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, stated:

“I am delighted to invite all our fellow citizens and visitors to join us at Zagreb Classic, which once again brings an exceptional open-air programme featuring outstanding artists from Croatia and around the world. I would particularly like to highlight this year’s celebration of World Music Day on 21 June, when audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy no fewer than two concerts. For the first time, the Music Pavilion at Zrinjevac will host a programme for our youngest visitors, featuring the Playtoy Orchestra from Italy, while later that evening King Tomislav Square will present Bach is in the Air, with performances by two remarkable pianists – Ramin Bahrami and Danilo Rea. Throughout the festival’s nine evenings, audiences will also have the opportunity to hear other outstanding international soloists, including pianist Polina Osetinskaya, accordion ambassador Richard Galliano, violinist Liya Petrova, trumpet virtuoso Matilda Lloyd, and American opera stars Erin Morley and Lawrence Brownlee, further confirming Zagreb Classic as one of the most important open-air music events in this part of Europe.”

This year’s programme offers a broad spectrum of musical expression – from grand symphonic works and opera gala evenings to musicals, jazz and tango. The festival stage will also welcome the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra and Choir of the Opera of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, and the ensemble of the Zagreb City Theatre Komedija.

All evening concert programmes begin at 9:00 pm, while the children’s programme at Zrinjevac begins at 7:00 pm.

The full programme is available via the link and in programme booklets distributed at the Zagreb Tourist Board Visitor Centres.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, concerts will, where possible, be rescheduled or cancelled.
