Makeely Foster was born in 2001 in Canberra, Australia. Developing an early love for ballet at the age of 3, Makeely completed her ballet education and graduated from the Tanya Pearson Academy in Sydney under the direction of Lucinda Dunn. She performed as a member of the Sydney City Ballet and participated in The Australian Ballet School’s ITP/Invitee program.

Upon graduation, Makeely moved to Europe, accepting a contract with the Thüringer Staatsballett in Germany. In April 2023, she joined the Croatian National Theatre (CNT) in Zagreb for the Swan Lake season, where she has remained since. Her performances with the CNT include roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Spartak, Hamlet, and Petruška.

Makeely has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Royal Academy of Dance Solo Seal, BBM Australia Scholar, Genee and Sydney Eisteddfod finalist, and, most notably, a medal at the Mia Čorak Slavenska International Prix in Zagreb. She has also enjoyed participating in various galas and performances across Australia and Europe.
