Due to the great interest of the audience, the hit musical for children Matilda from Šibenik will be performed again on the stage of the CNT in Zagreb on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at noon and at 5 p.m.
It is a performance that was created by the International Children’s Festival in Šibenik and the Croatian National Theatre in Šibenik in June 2015 after the libretto written by Marijana Nola to the music of Neno Belan and directed by Nina Kleflin. The project was based on a children’s novel with the same title written by the British writer Roald Dahl but the story and the characters have been adapted to our surroundings. Matilda is a story that talks of the right of every child and every human being to fight for the best possible life, despite all the negative circumstances that surround him/her. The girl Matilda represents a symbol of a brave child that improves the world with its kindness. This brave, pure and original child, a child that continues to live in the best of adults is a dedication to the entire International Children’s Festival in Šibenik that celebrated its 56th birthday.
This performance has a cult status in Šibenik and beyond. The production team is: Marijana Nola, the librettist, Neno Belan the composed and Nina Kleflin the stage director. The set designer is Osman Arslanagić, the costume designer is Sara Lovrić Caparin and the choreographer is Zorana Mihelčić.

She is very bright and curious although she lives with very selfish parents. She attends a school with a very wicked head of school. Regardless of this, she takes her destiny into her own hands and tries to improve things in her immediate surroundings.
There is also a CD titled Matilda original sound track, with the original songs from the musical. The publisher is the Dallas recording company who is also a partner of the Matilda project within the International Children’s Festival Šibenik. As support to the entire project numerous famous singers of Croatian popular music have sung the eleven original songs: Oliver Dragojević, Maja Posavec, Luka Nižetić, Davor Gobac, Marjan Ban, Zorica Konđa, Ivana Vrdoljak Vanna, Jelena Rozga and Neno Belan.
