Orpheus and Eurydice – Christoph Willibald Gluck
Christmas Concert – Various Composers
Messa da Requiem – Giuseppe Verdi
Ninth Symphony – Ludwig Van Beethoven

As the past season’s Sunday Concerts were immensely popular with our audiences, for the new season the CNT Opera in Zagreb is preparing a Cycle of Great Concerts to be performed on the stage of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. On September 21, 2017 we will officially open the 2017/2018 season with the semi-concert performance of Orpheus and Eurydice by Christoph Willibald Gluck, conducted by Nikša Bareza and directed by Kremišir Dolenčić. This gala performance will also mark the 35th anniversary of the career of the world famous Croatian-born countertenor Max Emanuel Cenčić, who set out on his artistic journey from the CNT stage in Zagreb. The second concert of the cycle, the Christmas Concert, returns to the CNT opera stage on December 23, 2017. The soloists, choir and orchestra of the CNT Opera will perform religious music and Christmas songs as a prelude to the holiday season. Giuseppe Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, which garnered immense praise from audience and critics alike, will again be performed at the CNT in Zagreb, for all those who missed the opportunity to witness the dazzling performance last season. Finally, the end of the season will be marked by a magnificent performance of the Ninth Symphony by one of the most celebrated musical geniuses Ludwig van Beethoven. On May 28, 2018, the CNT Opera ensemble, together with Japanese and Croatian soloists and a choir from Osaka will send a message of peace and compassion, marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Republic of Croatia.
