After ten years, the Ballet of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb returns to the Dubrovnik Summer Festival with its Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky in the choreography of the famous Vladimir Malakhov. The performances are scheduled for July 14, 15 and 16, 2017 in park Gradac. We are convinced that both the local and foreign spectators will be satisfied and this will aggrandise this significant return of our national ballet ensemble to one of the most prominent local festivals.
The Zagreb Ballet premiered P. I. Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake, a title that has always been awaited with great expectations, on March 17, 2017. The choreographer of this production is the renowned dancer and choreographer Vladimir Malakhov. For the first time Malakhov created Swan Lake. Until now he has staged popular classical titles such as The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella or La Bayadere, and this first production was created especially for the Zagreb ballet ensemble. The conductor was Dian Tchobanov who is a permanent conductor of the Ballet of the CNT in Zagreb from the beginning of this year. The set and costume designer is Jordi Roig with Enrique Conde as assistant, Deni Šesnić is the light designer and Emi Hariyama is the assistant choreographer. The ballet masters for this production are Iraida Lukashova, Mihaela Devald Roksandić, Milka Hribar Bartolović, Suzana Bačić and Leonard Jakovina.
After the opening night of Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky choreographed by the world-renowned dancer and choreographer Vladimir Malakhov there was an after-party where numerous artists and cultural workers congratulated the production team and the dancers.
