The Threepenny Opera is one of the most famous works of the great German dramatist Bertolt Brecht. Based on the homonymous English work from the 18th century, it became famous right after the world premiere in 1928 and has had more than 10 000 repeat performances in the theatres all over the world. In a love story, Brecht and his music associate Weil have masterfully presented the world of swindlers, competition, deception and intrigue. Beggars, prostitutes, pimps, corrupted policemen they make the world of The Threepenny Opera, with the cynical attitude towards the world in which money comes first. This staging of the famous work has immediately won many admirers both among the critics and among the viewers.
