The last work of the immortal bard, the most often performed playwright in the history of theatre, nostalgically evokes some other worlds governed by justice, not by revenge, governed by love, not by hatred, peace instead of the meaningless busyness. The arrival after a shipwreck on a strange island on which the magician Prospero rules with the help of the invisible Ariel and the terrible, but gentle Caliban, will change not only the sailors who managed to survive, but also all the inhabitants of the island. The adventures and the discovering of the unknown worlds, love, craving for tenderness, being in touch with the mysterious and the invisible around us, the encounter with the seemingly fairy-tale world, all that is just a part of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. With this show, the Drama of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb celebrates the great playwright, offering an unusual theatrical treat to everyone who loves and appreciates this noble art.
