This play of one of the leading contemporary German writers is loosely based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The park is not only the meeting place of different love couples, but also a junction of different life philosophies and the people of the 20th century who don’t want to stop dreaming, but are forced to live in today’s world without dreams. In this amazing park, two creatures from Shakespeare appear: Titania and Oberon.

With the help of a modern Puck Ciprian, they try to help those who would like to go on dreaming in the atmosphere of a seemingly ordinary park.

With Der Park, the Drama of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb presents a contemporary German work in an intriguing way, both in the sense of directing and acting.
