The trilogy of the American Nobel-winning author, with the opening night in 1931 in the United States, takes as its starting point a story from the Greek mythology and places it into the time of the American Civil War, but its eternal subject of murder, adultery, revenge, incestuous love and the family destruction after the bloody war, becomes a general drama of us all. Characters from the social margins struggling in the complex relationships, family secrets which get revealed and the slow withering of the family as the basic unit of the society, are only some characteristics of this show which has brought out the full interpretative strength of the ensemble.

Mourning Becomes Electra is uncompromising and brave, and therefore has aroused a great interest of the audience.
